An essay I once wrote wrote:
Something I cannot live without is Music. Not just listening to music, but playing it as well. The music I have is what I believe to be true music. No screaming and headbanging, no swearing and beatboxing, no lyrics at all for that matter. Pure music. I find words to be distracting. Distracting from what, you may ask? Distracting from the true purpose of the music. I don't know what that purpose is, for it is relative to each and every person. I believe that words and lyrics, in a way, ruin it. Music is all of our thoughts, emotions, feelings, hopes, dreams, and beliefs all put to sound with or without the use of words. Music is a very large part of my life, and I don't know what I would do without it. In fact, what would the world be without music? A pretty crappy place filled with chaos if you ask me.

There's what I think of it.

Music has touched me is a very influential way throughout my life.
I am grateful to be talented in Music, and I am happy to have devoted much of my life to it.

And to think, millions of people take it for granted every single day.

Well, music means a lot to me...it represents feelings, hopes and dreams, and people themselves...unfortunetely I don't have a talent in music, so I try to find music to listen to that represents me and my feelings. I don't care about what's cool or popular, I just want something that fits me and sounds really good. It also inspires me to draw, and it keeps me from getting bored of working on a picture....

Music is pretty much my life.
Listening to it is great, but I also enjoy playing it, analyzing it, studying it...

Music allows me to express my emotions as freely as possible.
The one thing I love most about music is how many various types there are.

I have generally broad tastes. Classical is good, sure, but everyone has their own definition of music.
I try to accept as many genres as I can.

Lyrics ~ Regardless of the music itself, if the lyrics represent my feelings, or the feelings of my characters, chances are I'll listen to it.

Lyric-less ~ I also love lyric-less music. I have to decipher what the song means myself, and there's no limits to the message the song will give to me.

Other-Language Music ~ Depends. If I know the lyrics in English, the Lyrics thing applies. If not, Lyric-less applies.

I DON'T FEEL LIKE WRITING WALLS OF TEXT TODAY, SORRY :(

I'LL PROBABLY EDIT MORE ONTO THIS TOMORROW

Music is something I'm on life support with. I'm always listening to music, and I have trouble separating myself from my music phone once I put my headphones in to the point where I have to find a song I hate to get myself to take it out. Life is bland to me without music, as I can't do anything in pure silence, I have to have something to distract me. I'm going to laugh so hard if that's a warning sign of AD- *SHOT*

Me too. I need background music while I do homework. That's part of why I find words distracting.

Music is pretty much nothing to me. Sure I find the odd song that's okay, but not much is found out of it. The only real reason I listen to music is entertainment, I'm not channeling out my stress, or relating to a song. Just entertainment. The main reason I probably don't really have a bond is because no songs say anything about what's important to me, or involve me. I'm not some emo kid who slits their wrists, so I can't listen to half of the genres out there. I don't constantely humping every moving female object, or doing drugs and getting smashed, so there goes another chunck. And most female music is about being in love with guys are something else that's really stupid. SO YOU CAN SEE I DON'T FIT IN.

I like music for all reasons possible.

Entertainment, fun, love, feelings, sadness, encouragement, time-passing, etc.

I like singing along to music. Even if the lyrics are dumb, if the song itself is good I'll still sing to it. If there are no lyrics, I just hum or make up my own to describe what I'm doing at the time. ("Drivin', to school, to school, there's, some bitch on her cellphone...") I'm too shy to sing when anyone can actually hear me, though, so I usually only do it when I'm driving somewhere.
Of course, music without lyrics is nice too. I listen to music both with and without lyrics, I like both, and I don't think that one type is necessarily better than the other. Lyric-less music allows you to decide for yourself what the song means, but doesn't always allow the musician to communicate the same message they could by using words.
Some people say that certain genres aren't "real music," but I disagree. Even if you don't like them, someone out there does, and who are you to decide what's real and what's not? Keep in mind that a lot of people felt the same way about jazz music when it first appeared.

Music...

Actually, I think it may be more important to me than anything. I relate to some of it, actually. No, obviously not this "rap" and "heavy metal" music, but...Some of the music that actually tells a story. I guess that's why I started listening to Country music a lot.

It takes your mind off your real life, and makes you listen to a story of what happened to someone else. Near the end of the song, I either know that the song was meant to have a "happy" ending, or it all ended in tragedy. Sometimes, the "depressing" songs have the best meaning, in my opinion, though.

I listen to music, mainly, so I can get rid of stress. I also listen to it so I can stop and think about someone else's story other than my own, too, I suppose.

...And there are those few songs that I like, but have literally no meaning. They're fun songs to listen to and cheer you up, rather than being able to tell you someone else's story.

I would like to admit that there are a few exceptions to my "no lyrics" rule: Any Coldplay, Any Journey, Any Weird Al, and Welcome to the Jungle and TTFAF.

That actually explains all I think about music.

You could even say music makes my life better than it really is.

Wow, everyone is in love with music this much? o.0

I also find music to be a very small portion of my life. I have very little talent in playing music, and it always feels like listening to it seems more of a commitment than for leisure...
Okay, there is the occasional song which I love humming to and listen to over and over again. But, that happens once every few weeks. I rarely listen to music, except, sometimes, if I'm doing something else, e.g. when doing homework.
My opinion might be different if I had an Ipod and it was possible to get songs completely free, but for now...

I thrive off music.
I prefer (but suck at most) rythme based games depending on whether there's a decent story around it. Bonus points if the dancing/singing/ instrument playing is explained by the characters.

For types of music, I like ones that put a new touch on older things(remixes), and songs that a dase of Lyrical Dissownace.(The lyrics don't really match the mood of the song.)
