Yoshi's Story is one of my favorite games ever. It was one of my first games I ever owned. I grew up with it, and it has changed my life. I will now review the game that started my love for video games.

Story: Not bad, but not much depth when compared to other games, without even considering RPGs.

Gameplay: Pretty good. There are some good platforming devices, and the system for egg throws doesn't have many flaws. But one thing that is not good is the flutter jump: if you are falling into an endless pit, it will not save you. You can't gain much vertical distance with it.

Edit; Length: The game was a little short. IMO, it wasn't too short, but it could have been longer. But one has to take into account that it requires multiple playthroughs to get to all the levels and get a perfect score on all the levels.

Characters: Yoshis, Yoshis, Shy Guys, and Yoshis. Not much variety with characters and enemies. There are still quite a few enemies, despite that fact that 60% (yes, I counted) of all the enemies are a form of Shy Guy.

Music: LOVE. IT. Oh my gosh, the music from this game is very cool.
And the music gets pimpin' when you have 0 health.

Overall: I love this game. It's a very good game, although the basic concept and visuals are quite childish.
My overall score for Yoshi's Story for the N64 and Virtual Console is 8.5/10.

Please comment and add anything you think I missed.

I found the visuals of Yoshi's Story to be inspired, and a bit ahead of their time. Not much, but a bit, and it all looked nice.

I would've preferred you to go over the length. It seems to be the bane of games like Yoshi's Story and most of the Wario platformers.

Ahh, yes. The length. It was not too short IMO, but still pretty short.

It is also the bane of most Kirby games.
