Here's an article of reference.
My god...In little more than half an hour, some kid breaks into the zoo, beats rare reptiles to death with stones, and feeds them to the resident crocodile. His brother was also convicted of animal cruelty charges at the same zoo in the past.
That is just DISGUSTING, and frankly it's shocking, too. I'm sad for both the animals and the level of tolerance for animals if someone that young is able to go out and kill endangered species without a moment's remorse.
What kind of ticks me off is that a person commented on this article and said, "How is different from killing ants?" The difference is that, while there are like millions of ants in the world, there could have been less than 100 of any of those reptiles who were killed, and that boy just shortened those numbers by murdering rare animals and their mates. And besides, beating something and feeding it to a crocodile is much more violent than accidentally stepping on an ant...
What are your thoughts on the situation- the crime itself, what should be done to prevent future cases, or punishment? |

Seeing how I most likely am going to be a biologist in the future, this is the kind of kid who I just wish I could backhand some sense into. Then backhand him some more. <.< |

It's probably very shocking to me because my family is anti-animal cruelty. Sure we eat meat and everything, but if my brothers EVER even threw a single pebble at a toad, my mom would explode at them. |

Jesus, that's terrible. That kid has some serious issues, and his parents need to get him checked out. *crag* the fact that he's 7, he's fully liable for what he did. |

I hate reptiles. But I would never hurt any of them. KILLING AN ANIMAL TO ME IS LIKE KILLING A HUMAN. What's stupid is nobody can do anything about the kid.

What I want to know is how he managed to do this for half an hour without anyone realising he had gone >.>
Well, like everyone else in this topic, I find it appauling that anyone, no matter what their age, background, etc. is, would do this. |

Okay, in all seriousness, this disgusts me. If he's able to murder several animals with remorse at the age of 7, when he's 10 he'll be a full-blown criminal, I wish he DID climb in with the crocodile. |

BUT, IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, THAT KIDS IS A DUMB ASS. IT'S NOT SO MUCH BECAUSE HE KILLED THOSE REPTILES, BUT MORE THAT HE DID IT AT A PUBLIC ZOO WHERE ANYONE WITH COMMON WOULD KNOW IS A PRETTY SHITTY IDEA.

I really wish that children could get punished for doing things like that. And I want to know what possible reason he decided to do that. What possible excuse could he have? |
