Having a girlfriend =/= having a life. I'm 18, haven't had a girlfriend yet, and am happy. I don't need one, and nor should you make it seem like it is an important thing for everyone to have. You see, you're forcing your perspective on Popple, and everyone else, by suggesting that. There is no correct way to live, as it is all relative opinion and perspective- you should be able live however the hell you want as long as it isn't hurting anybody. This guy, obviously, isn't hurting anyone. Why don't we just leave him alone?

Hey, you have your opinion, I have mine. Popple is flaming other people for not having his opinion.

Yes, but acting like your opinion or way of living is correct and/or better than someone else's encourages such angry reactions, and is just as bad. Someone who has 3 girlfriends and tons of buddies isn't living a better life than someone who decides to play online games instead; he just has a different life. No need to openly criticize or show hatred towards someone who chooses to live a way that doesn't affect someone else.

In fact, let's turn this around, and praise the guy for such an accomplishment, because there's nothing wrong with acting positive towards people with different tastes or lifestyles. He must be an excellent player to be able to handle so many accounts at the same time (Even though I don't really approve of multiboxing.) He's highly skilled, and is a masterful multi-tasker.

Exactly. I am not acting like my opinion is the fact. However, Popple IS. That's my point.

If that guy was a member of these forums, would you still say that he had no life?

Yes. Life isn't all about wants, but also needs.

Wouldn't that be considered flame/flamebait as well?

No. It is considered an opinion.

I would of course ask him what else he does in life then do whatever he is doing in WoW.

If being mean to someone and saying, "You need to get a life," is not flame, then why should "you're an idiot for not being open-minded" (Or whatever Popple said) be considered flame? They're both opinions.

Calling a group of people who have the same opinion as I do "Idiots" is different, my friend. Outside the world of video games, There are people say that HARDcore video gamers have no life. Here, They say the opposite. Please keep in mind Cid, that Video games isn't a way of living. It is a HOBBY.

This is an opinion, but you're treating it as fact not by openly disagreeing, but by openly stating that the other side is wrong, and stating what is "correct." Some people consider videogames a "culture." They aren't wrong for doing so; it's their opinion, and I see where you're coming from with that. But your "That guy needs to get a life" opinion isn't an opinion that respectfully disagrees with another's opinion, but is an opinion that openly attacks another's lifestyle or way of life, making it just as bad as saying "That guy needs to stop being stupid," or, in Popple's case, "That guy is stupid." Which is pretty much the same thing.

We're not arguing over a guy with 36 WoW accounts, but whether one person should be singled-out for flaming; and, if that's the case, both sides deserve to be singled-out, as the accusing side is (Based upon the above paragraph) just as guilty as the other side. Or, of course, we could stop arguing over who is right and wrong, and say that no one really did anything wrong, and that it's all a matter of opinion, in the end.[/i]

O.o Um OK. I mean no offense by this whats so over, but talking to someone on the internet (such as you) is like talking to a brick wall, AS IN; Of course you will disagree with my opinion, knowing you are a gamer, and knowing that you are defending your "culture", so we can't get ANY farther then square 1, because you're thoughts will always remain that you have a life, and nothing can change your thoughts. So what am saying is we are basically going back and fourth. 36 WoW accounts is DEFINITELY bizzarre, you can't disagree with me on that. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be news, and we wouldn't be discussing it. Either way, it doesn't matter. It's his life, he can do whatever he wants with it. But some people such as I find it quite odd to do something like that.

That's fine, but the primary point of the arguement wasn't about that; it was about how you were accusing Popple of something you were guilty of, as well (Flamebait.)

Of course, now it looks like you've accepted that both sides are just stating their opinion, and that there really wasn't a problem to begin with. So, no need to continue this arguement, if I'm correct.
