So on Thursday my parents and my teachers arranged a surprise dinner for me where I got some scholarship offers. Apparently, I'm on a good side of the student base because I've got high grades and I'm inter-city, which they're trying to recruit a lot of now.
The two colleges recommended to me were Dartmouth and Amherst, which are both a little far from home, but I think I'd be willing to manage. Also, Dartmouth is apparently Ivy League, and I think Amherst might be, too...I need to do more research.
So far, I'm LOVING the idea of Amherst, because it's closest to home; we'd have no problems with money (50% of Amherst students have scholarships, 64% are on financial aid), a very open curriculum (over 30 courses, and you can take any difficulty you want), and a lot of emphasis on writing and the creative arts.
