I loved that cartoon. I really like the parts where the big dog would do a short insightful monologue. I remember three such monologues.
Big Dog wrote: | Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa... Is this really the best way to cope with the complex emotions you're experiencing? You've clearly reshaped your external reality to justify your internal desire for conflict resolution. Don't turn to outward violence, turn to inner strength. |
Big Dog wrote: | Listen kid, love is the only chance for happiness you'll ever get in this life. And if you're gonna let a little thing like rejection stand in your way, baby, you might as well just stay right there on the ground because people are gonna be walking all over you for the rest of your life. |
Big Dog wrote: | During the holidays when vacations are incurred, it's a good time to vacation from yourself. Of course, you cannot vacate your body and go off somewhere, but you can alter your mind and frame of living so that, for well grounded purposes, you will be taking a vacation from yourself. Here are some of my suggestions... (cuts away, returns) So, in closing, I say: drop all cares and worries about politics, business, and the foreign situation. You will be astonished to find the world will manage to struggle on somehow. Take a vacation From Your-Self! | Anyone have their own favorite parts of this great cartoon that now only exists in reruns? |

That pops into my head every time I see something cute. I usually say it out loud but no one else knows the reference. |

I remember that show. Once they had a The Price is Right episode, where the dogs were trying to win the tiny prize, a box of dog treats, but instead they get the sports car. |

Buh! Buh! Buh huh huh huh! That was the best part of the show.
This was a pretty good show. I believe there were better shows that had similiar concepts, though (Ren and Stimpy.) |

Ahhh, good times... I remember that show, the little dog was always being stupid...majority of the time.
It was like a reference to Hippys. The big dog with shaggy hair, was always cool and laid back. He always got what he was wanting in a sort of manner...and the dog who tried and tried, never succeeded. |
