I just hope people don't go out lynching Chinese citizens over this.

Really, it's not their fault.

Nobody really suspected Melamine when they first started using the milk products, and when they had found out, some items were already shipped to America.

I know, but the last thing we need is for the media to see all the 'CHINESE PEOPLE SHOULD JUST SEAL THEMSELVES IN AIRTIGHT BAGS AND DIE BY THIS POISON MILK' stuff.

Get yourself to a hospital as soon as you can. If this gets into your bloodstream it can be potentially fatal.

But I'm afraid of the hospital... D:
And well, he said it may not have it right...? And it was only a small amount... right?

I wouldn't suggest taking the risk.

I spread the word to my friends and family.

Also, one of my friends was looking up companies that failed the test, and apparently a branch of Nestle in the UK had the stuff in it or something. D:

Dear god, I think this might have cemented my doubt about going this year. D:

I'm definitely going to spread the word about this.

SHEESH! there's always something bad going on with candy near Halloween! Last year a guy on my street as arrested for giving out candy with some sort of drugs in it. I don't know how or why he did it. Some people are not to be trusted with candy nowadays!

Tsuki, calm down. Adults can take small dosages of melamine without ill-effect, you just should watch out - children, young teens and especially babies are in danger.

Quote:
Melamine by itself is nontoxic in low doses, but when combined with cyanuric acid it can cause fatal kidney stones due to the formation of an insoluble melamine cyanurate.[12] Melamine is described as being "Harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Chronic exposure may cause cancer or reproductive damage. Eye, skin and respiratory irritant.” However, the toxic dose is on a par with common table salt with an LD50 of more than 3 grams per kilogram of bodyweight. [13] FDA scientists explained that when melamine and cyanuric acid are absorbed into the bloodstream, they concentrate and interact in the urine-filled renal microtubules, then crystallize and form large numbers of round, yellow crystals, which in turn block and damage the renal cells that line the tubes, causing the kidneys to malfunction.[14]

[quote]FDA permits a certain amount of cyanuric acid to be present in some non-protein nitrogen (NPN) additives used in animal feed and drinking water.[7] Cyanuric acid has been used as NPN. For example, Archer Daniels Midland manufactures an NPN supplement for cattle, which contains biuret, triuret, cyanuric acid and urea.[8]

((Wow, 180 g of table salt can kill me...))

Anyway, you"re relatively safe as long as you don"t eat pet food. Okay, inappropriate humor.

But, seriously, guys, calm down >.>

Also, we only have Saint Martin's Night. You Americans and your crazy ghost extermination rites...
