Actually, postings have increased across the entire board.
The Dump IS the most active, but it's more like a chatroom than a forum. You can't expect any real lasting conversation to go on in there.
What if I replaced The Dump with a real chatroom? |

Like I said, postings have increased across the entire board. Even if you never clicked on The Dump, you would still have plenty to talk about. Guests don't even know that the dump exists. |

We have a chat room. Two in fact. People don't use them.
Dump > Chat room.

Don't get rid of the dump. It's done absolutely NOTHING negative for the forum... and it keeps users from becoming bored of the forum.
Francis, I'll tell you a little story about how boards can lose their awesomeness without a spam board.
I joined a forum... and it was great. Awesome, a lot like Digibutter in fact. BUT... the Admins decided people were posting TOO MUCH in the spam area... and banned me as well as probably a bunch of other users for doing so, and removed said spam forum.
I rejoined a few months later after the ban was lifted... and the forum was so dull. I couldn't join in on any of the conversations because they were already too big for me to bother reading, or they simply didn't interest me... and every time I tried to start one, I got the same crap...
"Someone posted this before!"
Removing the dump will destroy digibutter forever. It's part of LB's plan. |
