I used Mario Peach and Geno, but it took forever since I only fought enemies to level just once throughout the entire game. |

First time was Geno, and Peach.
Second time was Peach, and Mallow.
Smithy is easy anyways, as long as peach is in your party. He does have epic music, though. |

First time with Mario, Bowser, Toadstool
Second time with Mario, Geno, Toadstool, and all super cheap items (i.e. Lazy Shell, Super Suit, Attack Scarf, Star Egg, Red Essence, etc.) disabled.
Still haven't beat Exor with Bowser-only, but I'm getting there. |

Hm... it was so many years ago...
Mario, Toadstool, Bowser... with very basic items. Can't remember if I was under or over leveled. Probably under, as I was quite young when I first beat the game. |
