I have never said the first one, however, this isn't quite impossible, though unlikely yes.

Not everyone is willing to pay extra to get some game they won't be able to read imported. |

So you are saying that you, as of right now, have imported a copy of Mother 3, ripped a ROM directly from the game, and implemented this patch.
Is this what I am to believe? |

The patch is illegal discussion.
But only long indepth illegal discussions and/or links to the ACTUAL ROM violate the rules IIRC. That is a two page topic that barely goes indepth. |

That doesn't make any sense at all.
Either we take all or none.
There is no place for middle ground on the subject of illegal gaming.
The word "illegal" doesn't know intensities, either something is illegal or it isn't. |

So you are saying that you, as a member of this site, own this game, have ripped the ROM off, and implemented the patch.
While also simultaneously stating that every other member who has discussed Mother 3 has done this as well? |

I am not saying that they did, however, they could have.
It is unlikely that they did, however, it is STILL not illegal, as no roms have been shared, in that topic, and as such, either they did as I did, or it is not the topic's responsibility. |

A patch does not have any meaning that you should illegally download a game. Did the let's play of earthbound zero make anybody illegally download earthbound zero?
And for the patch being illegal due to it not being unofficial, gamesharks and Action replays are unofficial as well, yet legal |

So with this being said, posting a patch(not illegal) to a ROM that is illegal for 99/100 people is perfectly okay?
So with that said, we should be able to post download links for several kinds of things, perhaps along the lines of game expansions and the like, just as long as we don't do it with the game itself.
In short, it's really difficult to explain just where exactly this falls. It requires the use of a ROM, which is illegal, which should make the patch itself illegal. If M'aiq wasn't confusing himself, he'd go on... |

Let's face it, the topic basically said "The Patch is out, go download Mother 3."
I don't care if it was explicit or not, this holds true.
The fact is, that patch is useless without a ROM to play it with, and I bet Maya is the only person on the site who has an actually copy of the game.
IE, by posting a patch you are encouraging people to download the ROM as well by illegal means.
Case Closed. |

If an illegal piece of software is not linked to, and it someone decides to find the ROM by themselves, it is their fault, not anyone else's. This site and/or it's members cannot be held responsible for what other people choose to do. |
