And... I've been doing everything I can for over a month to get Kamek back to his original character again. I got sick of the pointless overpowering crap.
Getting back on track... I'm 50/50 on this situation. This idea is just... meh. Pieces of it may help while other bits will piss people off.
I just don't know... |

Now that you posted the exact DETAILS of your plan, you have a right to critisize me for my opinion on this. Now, first off...
| Quote: | | So RPOT will no be leaving RP |
That would shatter the entire point of this topic if it wasn't an obvious typo.
Now onto business.
| Quote: | | Only original characters are to be posted under you and owned by you. You do not own game characters, this is RP not RPOT. If someone needs/wants to use a game character in their plot, they have every right too. |
I disagreed with this atfirst, since I first read it as a big contradiction along the lines of "Video game characters aren't allowed, therefore they are." Luckily, I read it over twice and realized what you said.
| Quote: | | All plots in RP will be constrained to one topic unless that plot ends and you would like to make a sequel. This is how it has always worked so this should not be a problem. |
I rarely see a problem with that anymore, but it's probably since plots under your preference aren't common anymore.
Afew things I would like to say before this post closes...
| Quote: | You have your own forum, stay out of the other one's.
Some people would actually like to use it. |
What the *crag* was stopping you in the first place? We aren't physically holding you down whenever you try to use it. And...
| Quote: | I don't care if it's a rule, it doesn't make sense. People who say it's RPOT and not RPLOT are ignorant idiots who don't even see that plots are simply the structure that checks role plays interesting. |
Please try to word this better. I don't think "checks" is in the context you meant it to be in.
Aside from some nitpicks, it sounds reasonable now that you weren't just waving a closed file infront of us and insulting us for not getting the cryptic hints that you threw at us. EDIT:Actually, now that I think about it, it was more like a broken record preformance.

There isn't much in your post that I disagree with, although I probably am one of the RPOT Vets you're talking about. The Plots-Stay-in-RPOT appealed to me a lot, as it seemed kind of pointless to spread a single plot through two forums, while creating clutter in the RP forum in the end...
At first I saw this topic as sort of a bitter jab at what I held dear on this site, but after rereading it a few times I have to say I agree with what you're saying. |
It doesn't only apply to OC's, it can easily apply to the traditional characters you use, becuase a good deal of them don't fit what they are at all.
Prime examples? Look at a good deal of Crazy Cody's alts.(I'm annoyed with the fact that he's always the first to come to mind for these examples) Kamek likely isn't what the typical Mario fan feels is Kamek. Cody has developed Kamek to the point where he is an entirely different character. Same could be said for Maya, Mister I, and Strong Bad sometimes. |
That applies a great deal to me, as well. Maybe canon characters who have developed separate from their series could have a seperate sort of sheet? EX., basic information on the actual character with notes as to how they've developed over time. |

SO DO WE AGREE ON THIS OR NOT
Obviously it is going to piss off some RPOT people who want to have plots in RP, but I don't think that plots and characters from RPOT should be in RP in the first place. The kind of defeats the purpose.
I want to have RP full of role plays that anyone can join, not some where only RPOT users can join. |

And here's where it falls apart. There are no RPOT users There are no RP users. There are only people who use those forums alot. Segregating them as such is the major flaw here. |

That isn't true though.
I have talked to many people who wish to engauge in serious RP, but the chance has not been presented.
There are RP users, they have just been brushed aside by the RPOT users. |

I agree, although overall I don't like how condescending you're being towards people in RPOT. |

Perhaps that was a mistep, and a little too harsh.
I don't mean to offended, but even if I was a little harsh a lot of what I have said about RPOT's practices I have seen with my own eyes. |

True... Although in my opinion, allowing plots to stay in RPOT instead of being forced into RP would appeal to a lot of RPOT users in the first place instead of having them go against it. I hate that unnecessary rule, and I'm sure there are tons more that do as well that frequent RPOT. |

I never said I hated RP.
I meant that I hated having a single plot spread through two different forums for no real reason. |
