Anyone else played it?

I'm still in the first chapter, but because I am trying to get all the Core Materials so I can synthesize all the Golems I can get right now. All I have left to get right now is Tien-Tops, Werewolf, and Rio Winoza. I'm not buying Gems simply because I get them from killing rogue Golems. For party members, Makoto and Toya are not all that bad (but I really hate Makoto, both in battle and out. The guy uses a SAX to fight! He's a Spoony Bard but worse!).

Out of the Golems I currently have, I favor Primrose. Maid with machine gun. Hehe. For a healer, I usually go with Angelina, but she still needs a couple levels to be up to scratch with everyone else. Plant Guardian is strange, both to look at and in battle, but its a good fighter. But the best Golem I have for pure fighting right now is Taigalion.

Don't get me wrong, but the Golems are not strictly needed for the battles, but remember Chrono Cross? Yeah... That game had dozens of party-characters which did not offer anything plot-wise. I suspect that is the case with the Golems. (And to clear things up: I am calling the characters by the names which they appear in the copy of Enchanted Arms I am using. For some reason, Taigalion comes up as Tigerlion in other places, for example, and all of the Golems speak Japanese.)
