While I'm 50/50 on this, it would definitely turn in to a popularity contest. I know many many sites that have this, and guess who always wins every category? (Other than best artist) The same person. Funniest, most random, nicest, most helpful, least biased, least annoying, most likely to be a politician, whatever. It's ALWAYS the most popular member. You can TRY to make it not a popularity contest, but you won't succeed. |

Why can't people just suck it up?
You shouldn't cry over not WINNING an AWARD. In fact, it SHOULD MOTIVATE you if you REALLY WANTED that AWARD, for god sakes.
It's not like you'd get anything special.

Up to a point like this, it's not like we should really care about something being a popularity contest. Remember, we just had the hugest popularity contest possible (In a blunt way of speaking).
I support this idea. It guess it could motivate people to try getting awards like "best post". Which is saying, people will post better posts. |

I SAID I'M 50/50 ON IT, It's a good idea, it really is, and I like it, I'm just saying there isn't any way to avoid a popularity contest.

I would nominate Naruto, Master Cheif, Lx3, and the person who came in early in the year who everyone quoted in their sigs. (What was their name? I think it started with a T. I know they were a girl and misspelled "antisocial.") |
