This is a really excellent article I came across a few minutes ago, and I agree with it.

                                | Oh, I totally agree with this.
Nintendo's always been for the kids, and family-friendliness. After all, pretty much all of us played Super Mario Bros as children.

                                | For once, a news article that made me cry... I agree with it. All of it. It's beautiful... Read this people. Then think twice about everything you said about Nintendo. Dissing it and stuff. Rethink all that. Then make up your mind. Excellent article Screw Attack. I applaud you. | |

                                | That article did nothing but misunderstand the problem.
Most people who are 'dissing' Nintendo aren't doing it because Nintendo's console isn't providing enough "adult" games; they're doing it because the Wii isn't providing enough "good" games compared to its competition. Back in the days of the NES and SNES, there were large quantities of good games to choose from. Now, however, we have sub-par games such as Wii Music or Wii Play that are defended because "they're just simple fun." What is worth more fun, however? A temporary, cheesy gaming experience or one that can last one a while?

The Wii may provide the little gimmicky experiences here and there. But it fails in providing enough "meaty" games to make the system worth buying to any gamer considering purchasing a current gen console.

So, do I care if a game is "kiddy" or not? No, of course not. I greatly enjoyed Mario Galaxy, because it was a good game. Now, if only we could get more games like that on the console, and less poorly-developed "toy" games.

                                | Nope.
 Wrong.

The problem is, even if those games exists, they haven't announced anything else.

 Anything.

 At all.

All that came out this year was AC, and it is basically a port.

 What does that say?

                                | A lot of the E games you like were probably in production for years. It takes a long time to make an amazing game, and you need to have a constant flow of money coming in to be able to afford to make the game. | Steve wrote: | | LBP isn't M18+MegaKillGoreFest with squeakers yelling "ANUS!" Be glad they're making a cheap buck off of half-assed games. It's the idiots who buy the games that allow Nintendo to make their decent shit for us to play.

Or that's how I see it.

Because right now it's more like GO ONLINE AND ASK YOUR FRIENDS TO GET ON THE GAME/REGISTER YOUR FRIEND CODE instead of PLAY THE GAME AND INVITE/JOIN PEOPLE AT FREE WILL

                                | If the reason I'm mad at Nintendo is because they aren't "mature," then I probably wouldn't have loved the shit out of FFTA2. But I did. I'm much more of a fan of fully fleshed out epics and such- not just "pick up and play" type deals that Nintendo's been handing us. Sometimes simple fun can be good (i.e. Megaman 9), but I haven't seen a lot of real quality coming from Nintendo. Third parties are still dishing out the goods, especially on the DS, but the Wii's been lacking somewhat.
Now, let's compare the big releases late this year. The 360 had:
 -Mirror's Edge
 -Fable 2
 -Fallout 3
 -Far Cry 2
 -Saints Row 2
 -Gears of War 2
 -CoD: World at War
 -Left 4 Dead
 -Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe
 And now the Wii.
 -Wii Music
 -Animal Crossing: City Folk
 -Ummm...
