Kamek was in his room. He was inspecting the Star Rod.

His doors and windows were locked. He does not want to be disturbed.

[Tails Doll]

Larry, also in the halls, saw Koht and stopped. "I just heard that Kamek got something Star Rod. He's so obsessed with it right now, that he locked himself in his room just to study it. I wonder if it's important. Never knew what the thing did..." Larry sighed. "Anyways, I'm not in a good mood today. King Dad said with all this lava and heated water we have, my nuclear energy is utterly useless outside of airship fuel, and years of my research and inventions will be forgotten! But I still have this crystal."

Larry took a nuclearadium shard from his trenchcoat pocket.

"Nuclearadium! It's radioactive, and has this nice green glow to it. Obviously, radioactive decay is unhealthy, but we Koopas are very durable, and I've been working around the stuff for years without any bad effects. I plan on poisoning the rebels with the stuff!"

*A slightly annoying grinding sound would fill the halls. Someone was in a bad mood, and was dragging his ungloved claws across a wall as he walked by.*

[Aran Ryan]

Kamek forgot to put a sound charm on his door. It was obvious he heard the grinding.

"Hey! Keep it down!" He shouted before casting a mute spell on his door.

[Spiny]

He stopped the instant Kamek finished yelling. Spiny often did this whenever he was angry or bored. Today was a case of the latter.

[Tails Doll]

Larry waited till Spiny was close before he spoke. "Oh, hey, Air Marshal Spiny. Knew you were coming by that grating noise. Kamek's researching the Star Rod, whatever that is."

[Spiny]

"I guessed something like that when he locked himself inside his room."
He stared at the claw he was scratching the wall with, which was bleeding slightly from pressing down too hard.
All he did was clench his fist and put his glove back on.

The intercom system crackled to life, and a familiar voice boomed through it.
"Koopas, assemble in the meeting room within fifteen minutes! I expect you to be punctual!"
Bowser switched off the intercom and got up from his throne, a menacing figure towering above everyone else, eyes glowing blood-red in the darkness of the throne room.
"Those damn rebels...." he growled. "Must my troops be so incompetent?! Those scrappy rebels are just a group of rag-tag idiots thinking they can stand up to the might of the Koopa Kingdom..."
With an impatient swish of the tail, he walked off to the meeting room.

*As soon as the announcment was finished, he walked off to the meeting room, never really one to be late to any business.*

Kent was already in the meeting room, all the way in the back as usual.
