It's called acting in character. But something tells me that will be completely ignored in this topic and I'll soon regret not paying 10 coins over this lame shit.

Wait, it's in Christmas Party, and in the Christmas Party forum, you have to use a special alt right? So, if that's the case, then he's TECHNICALLY not at fault...

He has no right to abuse his alt to break the rules.

Yes, but the rules still apply. And necroposting is against the rules. If I spammed while using the alt "Kain", I would still be reported for spamming. Still guilty as charged.

BUT! His alt is a Slowpoke... The only way one can RP as a Slowpoke is if they act slow. So, THEORETICALLY, he is supposed to act slow, and post in old topics thinking they are new, because it's his character, as well as just being slow in general.

@Bartz: Yeah, but that case would be different, as your alt is not a spammer as a character. So, you have no right to spam. If your alt was a spamming character, then It would be acceptable.

He is still guilty as charged. There was no need to do so, as well. It was clearly a year and a half overdue, and was not necessary at all. Now, if we look at the rules...
Quote:

Necroposting

Posting in a thread that has not been active for longer than a week is considered "necroposting." A thread with little activity should be allowed to die.

Punishment:

If it is a first offense, a warning will be administered, and the thread that was revived will be locked. Continued rule-breaking in this fashion, however, will result in a strike.

A week. A simple, seven day week. This is 18 months, which is roughly 78 weeks. Almost 500 days. Even if he was acting in character, he should have known that doing so would come with a consequence, as that is the way of the world.

Striking a post at a party?

What the hell? It breaks the point in them.

Not guilty.

First off, you don't need a special alt for the Christmas party. Did it say "Special alt"? No. It gave you the option to not use an alt at all. Second, the rules were established way back during the early times of digibutter, and are written in stone. You are not allowed to break them. Third, even at parties there are ground rules set by the host of the party. If you don't follow them, you're kicked out. No trial, no jury, nothing. Fourth, the point of a party is to enjoy yourself responsibly. Do you remember why some of these rules were made? Originally people made topics in digi for the sake of coins with no point to them. That created The Dump, where we were then to spam, but then that exploded, and we now have Off-Topic. The parties are not places to break rules by spamming or necroposting or flaming. If you want to do that, go to a private group made for that and do it there. So, in closing, my final verdict is that there is no excuse, and he is guilty.

Guilty.
An alts character is no excuse for breaking the rules.
A day or two old at most would've been just as in character, but the post in question is just unexcusable.

Um, yes, he's guilty of necroposting, but isn't the punishment of that the automatic fine that comes with necroing? So why should a strike and another fine be added onto that?
