How about this?
Someone fiddles with Tails'spast, making him corrupt and evil in the process. That person, or rather, demon, is bellum, who went by the name of mellub in the form of a koopa. Now almost no one knows about his evildoings, and he has sapped all the ocean kings power, who is near dead now. |

You might want to rethink that but I don't mind the Tails' past thing. |
