The drawback ?
NONE ! It's available for free ! You don't need a Gold Account - heck, you don't need any sort of account at GameTap ! I used the Guest acount feature and downloaded and played it.
Steps:
1. Download the GameTap client. here
2. Download Psychonauts (1.4 GB; about 45 minutes at DSL speed.)
3. Play
4. Massive mental scarring interluded by awesomeness and fun ("Fire is pretty." ~Raz)
5. Swearing to avoid pepper, bunnies, meat and milk for the next milennium
6. ???
7. Massive Profit.

Actually, the drawback is that it tends to crash on the final cutscene.
Or so I've heard from people playing it. |

To me it just went face-flat after the lungfish level.
Oh, well, still worth it. I don't want to go to the Meat Circus anyway. I mean, all I thought during the Brain Tumbler Experiment was "OH GOD GET ME OUT OF THIS FREAKY PLACE !"
And then the brains... D:

Ah, here's how to fix the issues !
1. Open GameTap
2. Select Download Manager
3. Click on "[Download Options]"
4. Select "Full Download" and "Advanced Options". Whilst this will need moar disk space and have you redownload the game, it should fix the issue.
5. If you already downloaded Psychonauts, go to its page and click "cancel" or something, then select "Game only" so your save files are left intact.
6. Redownload Psychonauts
7. Play it
8. Tired old meme
9. Profit
