...Because I was thinking, some of our emotions are just messed up (mainly Ninja, Mario, Luigi and Very Happy) and need editing. I was thinking we could have another emoticon contest. It could be a redesign of a current emoticon, or it could be a whole new emoticon all together. There could be two categories. "Redesigns" and "Emoticons," so that we can update things with better looking ones, and Everyone who wants to could enter up to three emoticons in each a new one and a redesign, and we could then have voting. We could put the everybody votes section to use, and hold the voting there. Each time there is a new round of voting, half of them could be eliminated, based on user votes. This would narrow it down, but have the top three be used as emoticons on Digi.

It would be good for Digi because it would update 3 emoticons with updates everyone likes. It would also add 3 emoticons that everyone likes, so we can be sure the users will be happy. It would put the Everybody Votes place to use, rather than just let it sit and collect dust, and last but not least, you don't have to take part if you don't want to, so no one will be mad.

QuestionExclamation

What do you mean when you say that nobody uses smileys like this Arrow Idea ?

Actually, I agree. The Mario and Luigi smileys are kinda creepy, the ninja and Very Happy seem fine to me, and the above four are pretty useless.

I revamped the idea a little, and I did this to the parts that would help Digi, for the tl;dr people.

You're being a bit too formal on the contest idea. The old contest idea was very loose, and worked out quite well. Basically, everybody just submitted whatever emoticons they wanted and Francis picked whatever. It also wasn't just the top winners, there were also others who weren't even in the top three and they had their smilies chosen to be part of Digibutter. But anyways, using the Everyone Votes forum could bring attention to the smilies that the people like, and Francis would be able to tell which ones the majority of Digibutter liked. Then, we would have the ones that seem to be the favorites of the bunch and pick 'em out. If there's more than three good ones, or only two, why leave some group favorites out or bad ones in?

And also, to the Exclamation , Question , Idea , and Arrow , it is true that they are very uncommonly used. There is the possibility that Francis could delete them, but smilies barely use bandwidth unless mass-spammed, and they are oft-used in the first place. There is the possibility of moving them to 'View more Emoticons,' in order to make more room for the more often used smilies, like Franis , or hidden smilies which I have suggested before, in which they do not show up on basic smilies list and will only be accessible by typing in the specific code. That would keep the already used instances of old posts using those smilies in place, while keeping them out of the list and still being able to be used by typing in the easily remembered code.

We could hold another emoticon contest, but the users can choose which ones they would want.

Who the hell voted no? I think it's a great idea, there's no downside to it.

Yeah, I was the one who made them. That was a long time ago...
But I don't mind if you get rid of them. They weren't really all that good anyways.

I know, I never said they were. Al I'm saying is that this is a good idea with no possible downside. I'm not saying it's the best idea ever. And I'm definitely not saying all of my ideas are better than everyone else's.

Just because you think something has no possible negative outcome doesn't mean others think the same way, or that your way is the right way. Quite a few people have voted No, and they have their reasons. The only thing that's the problem is that they're not explaining their reasons for saying no, so we can try and understand their reasons.

Name 3 negative things to come from this.

I'm not saying that it's a negative thing. I'm just saying that other people obviously think that it's a bad idea, and have their own reasons. I'm supporting the emoticon contest with some revisions from my post, but others think that it's a a bad idea or so. It's 8 people against seven, and that's a nice portion of the voting.

Oh. I thought you were one of the people. I know the people have their reasons, I was just wondering what they were so I could fix them, because I don't see a downside. Well, either way, I'd like the downsides to be explained to me.
