The result of lots of brainstorming and such on the cbox.

To start, everyone would have a certain battle rating. When you kill someone, it goes up. When you're killed, it goes down. When you kill someone who's at near-zero, it goes down. This would allow pacifists to stay out of fighting and anyone who defies that gets their out little punishment.

Whenever your rating reaches a certain tier, you'll get bonuses. Combat related, like higher max health, doing a certain % more damage with weapons, and so on. So the people who are staying out of fighting aren't losing anything.

When you try to attack someone that's offline, you'd get a warning message first, then you could proceed. This would get you dishonour points, which warrant some sort of penalty.

With all this, we'd have an active, relatively developed battle system, which would include rankings, and it'd keep usershops busy, which would spread out the economy. There could also be other little perks like bounties, where people can place a few coins as a reward for taking out someone highly ranked and out of their range to kill.

Maybe with Cid's smash ball idea, everyone who participates in taking down a smash ball'd user would get extra bonuses.

Someone who was on the cbox correct me if I missed something, but yeah. That's it for now.

For the most part, I agree with this; the battle system is in dire need of revision, and this provides both incentive for battle as well as security for those who are not so keen on the concept of "battling."

Looks good so far. There is one problem. Let me give you a scenario.

There is a member that has an unnaturally high rating. To keep this rating up, he kills members who don't bother about the battle system. Doing so keeps his honor system up, and gives him bonuses and such.

Here's what I propose.

If you kill a member that has not killed anyone, you get more dishonor points. Or perhaps an item called "Pacifist's Shield" which prevents them from being hit or attacking during one month. It can be removed at any time, but can only be used once every month.

Or two weeks, or whatever.

There could be a thing in the profile that's like "do you want to be a part of the battle system?" and if you click yes, it would say "pacifist" on your profile. Then your max HP could be 5/100, so that the people who would try to kill you would lose points for it.

I dunno if this would work with our current system.

Anyway, as for the pacifist kind of item, I suggest a "Boo Mushroom". It costs 50 coins, you use it on yourself and get a "Boo" subtitle (ex: Werewolf Vampire Boo) and then you cannot attack using or be attacked by combat-related items (so spraypaints, relationships, searchlights, Cracker Launchers, etc, would still work). The effect can be ended via Monster Cure. There'd also be a thing where if you have used a combat-related item in the last 48 hours you cannot use this item. I think that should provide a pacifist option while preventing hit-and-run style abuse

That's better than my idea.

Read the Digibattle group more. As far as I understand, battles take place between 2 consenting people while they're both online, but I could be wrong.

How about a specialized monster cure. This one would require you to be a Boo/Pacifist for 48 hours to deactivate it. Since you could toss up the Boo Mushroom for about half an hour or so to save your skin, and then take it down to spam items.

I disagree. You can use the Boo Mushroom for defense and then take it down and attack soon afterwards, of course, but then due to the 48 hours before thing you couldn't re-equip it without taking a heck of a lot of damage, and if you counter-attacked the 48 hours would start all over again, so...

I know this sounds stupid, but maybe if we had a separate place entirely for the battle system, wherein you had to sign yourself up for it rather than be part of it automatically, we wouldn't have the issue of people who don't want in. Seeing as Francis already has Second Life planned for Digi, you might as well add zOMG! to the mix and make it PvP.

Sounds good, so now we need to figure out the formula.
How much does your battle rating change, depending on the battle rating of the other person?

Also, keep in mind that all it takes to win a battle is having enough coins.
The only skill is being on at the same time as the other person, and being careful about who you attack.

Fixed. Buying 99dmg items has nothing to do with luck.

Anyway, M'aiq doesn't support this idea. He like Francis' idea better, with the somewhat-TBS system even though he dislikes strategy games.

The point is that this would take a very minor effort on my part, but be a great improvement to the current system while we wait for the "real" battle game.
