Because it's an add-on. Why does all this need to be ADDED ON like some sort of tumor? It was perfectly functional at the start, why does it need to be an add-on in a later version? That's stupid! Stupid!
Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb! | While for the most part I agree with you, it's a way to make money. There's almost no chance they won't have a DSi add-on. Remember the GameBoy Player? That was for A) People with a lost/broken GameBoy and for B) People who were just plain stupid not to realize it really isn't that great of a thing.

You know that one thing that you plug into a console with the buttons and the joysticks, and the-D'aw, you know what i'm talking about. Anyway, it's an add on. An add on that artificially gives the console a nervous system. | That goes without saying. It's a controller. This is different.
This is something that was there to begin with, but it would have to be purchased again in a different version of hardware you already owned before.
Think about it this way. When the Wii came out, you didn't need an adapter to play GameCube games, or anything. It was built in, because they knew backwards compatibility is a popular market, and they knew that the GameCube had good games, so they built that in.
Do you know just how stupid it is to remove a major functionality like, you know, playing games on the DS, between versions of that hardware? |
Yes, but they didn't remove DS game functionality. They removed something that was cool atfirst, but is now abit stale considering if you still have GBA games at this point, then you most likely have something else to play them on. The PS3 removed backwards compatabilty in later versions, and that RAAAAAGE train lost it's steam pretty quickly. Who's to say this won't be forgotton as Nintendo dropping the ball?
It's like saying an apple tree fails as a tree for removing about two out of twenty apples. |

I has the japanese DSi. I dont use it much, but after playing on a DS lite after playing on a DSi, the screen felt so small... and the volume is higher than Lite's, a LOT higher. The colors are better too. The photo channel is pretty fun, the sound-recording one is not that good but still good. |
