If the robot couldn't keep still for two seconds and explain even vaugely what was wrong, the pain couldn't be fixed.
And he didn't want to hit the robot, since that would probably make it worse.*

There were some screws loose in the back of its head. This was not the cause of the pain, but removing the paneling might help show if there's anything wrong with the circuitry.

Instead of the usual circuitry, there was a living brain and spinal cord inside the robot.

*A slight look of dissatisfaction crossed his face as best it could. He disliked organic life due to a personal qualm, but he didn't think any of them deserved something like this.
He quickly, but gently, rooted around the connections made from the robot to the brain and spine to see if anything was pinched. The speed was to keep the brain from becoming overexposed to outside elements.*

The wires were all connected to the spine. However, there were some bone fragments lodged in the brain, quite possibly causing the 'robot''s pain.

*One of his fingers split in half, forming a small claw.
He began to gently pick the bone fragments out, trying to avoid creating any vibrations that would damage the brain.
After he finished, he put the panel back on, and fastened it before turning the 'cyborg' back on.*
