I'd like to put out one of the first ideas I've had since the beginning of the year, for all to see, give criticism on, and hopefully refine into a plan that could work.
We all know that the current court system is simply rediculous. We get cases every week for what must be the most pointless things that just turn into five or six people bickering about how not-guilty the person is.
When a post is reported, the same system will be used in bringing them to the mod's attention. instead of allowing one mod to accept/deny all these cases, however, they must vote on whether or not they are valid cases. Perhaps have a thread with a poll in the Crime Lab so a discussion can be held between the mods. How I fidure this would work is explained below in simple steps:
1) A post is reported and added to the report list. 2) If the report is accepted by a mod, the defendant is asked the usual question: Guilty or Not Guilty? 3a) If the defendant pleads Guilty, he pays the fine and the case ends there. 3b) The process continues if they plead "Not Guilty". 4) A discussion poll is made in the CL for the mods to come to a verdict. The poll lasts one or two days, or until every mod has voted. 5a) If the mods deem it "not guilty", the case is dismissed immediately. 5b) If found "guilty", a new thread is made in the Court topic. Here, the mods will be advised to refrain from voting until the users of Digibutter have time to support or oppose this verdict with their evidence and reasons. 6) When the reasoning is done, the mods will reach a final verdict on the matter.
To put it simply, this should help prevent a great deal of the pointless court topics from even appearing if they never make it past the mod's primary approval. instead of the current idea of having only one person be allowed to pass these into court.
I know I don't fully understand the systems yet, so I do know that this is likely flawed in many ways, so this is where the members and mods can come in, to help refine this idea into something that could actually work in the future. |

I've never paid attention to the court in the first place, but this sounds like how it should have been done in the first place; I support this. |
