http://www.geekologie.com/2009/02/japanese_police_use_wii_miis_f.php I don't know if this is real or not but if it is thats just awesome.
Quote: | I've seen her! She beat me on Rainbow Road not even a week ago! I threw my controller. It hit the dog. The dog died. Thankfully, my neighbor resuscitated it. Then demanded "a little something for his time". You know what he got? Wii'ed in the nads. |

Sorry, but that is just stupid.
I mean, the Wii's Mii feature isn't exactly "groundbreaking" in terms of recreating an actual person's face. There are probably like 30,000 people in Japan that resemble that thing.
Unless the person has giant glittery balls for eyes, has a beanie or cap and not any other kind of headwear, has only one or no moles, and has one of six noses, they should probably stick to using those professional sketchers. |

i lol'd
But Maiq is right. The Mii Channel is so inaccurate about recreating one specific person's appearance that it wouldn't work in court. I mean, I just had to copy my real Mii (which, in reality, only vaguely resembles me) and do a bit of tweaking with eye shape, hair color and style, and skin color, and it instantly gave me a Japanese alter ego. Which I cannot post because it's impossible to transfer images from the Wii to the PC, unless you sent a MKWii image to the Wii Message Bored (not a typo), then put in an SD Card, transferred it to the card, and then digital camera'd it onto the computer (put the SD Card into a camera, and then connected it to a PC with a USB cable and copied it over). And that I also can't do because Dad ran off with the camera. But if you've raced against a guy named "Kimura" from the Pacific side of North America, it was probably me. Especially if I pwnt you with a Triple Red Shells up your tailpipe five bike lengths from the finish.
As evidence, a Mii is a Total Load. (know why that is proper noun'd?) But if it's the only thing you've got for a wanted poster, it could be of some limited use. At least to get the basic features of a suspect, like race, hair color, and possibly what they were wearing.
And I suck at Rainbow Road. Yesterday, I attempted like fifteen times to get a Time Trials Ghost for that course, and almost every time I tried the Mushroom shortcut seen in the world-record ghost for the course, I got totally re-entry'd. Seriously, you start burning as you fall off the track! And I had a bike with really good Drift, Handling, and Mini-Turbo, so I don't know why I kept blowing it.
Lol, I used "-'d" four times in one post |

The Mii feature is so lacking and incredibly inacurate that they'll probably arrest a hunderd people before they get the guy. |

That's pretty awesome.
That simple image could effectively distinguish the perpetrator from over half of the population. |

Let's see... What does this tell us? Newer technology makes the Japanese police insane Newer technology makes the Japanese police quite unique from any other police unit from around the world ^^ |
