As the needles finished their first pass, the ones knocked to the ground picked themselves up, and the ones stuck in the walls pulled themselves out. They realigned themselves and shot forward once again; Not only from all sides, but from above, this time, too.

Gio's barrier wouldn't hold for long.

"Hahahah!" Zatsune's laughter resonated through the bloodstained tent. "The needles ramp up with every pass. It won't be long! Hahahah!"

Since he had no other choices, Bucket decided to use a black hole to get rid of some of the needles. Focusing his energy in one spot in the air, he had to take a few hits in order to spark the minuscule implosion above his head...

... and minuscule was right. About half the size of a basketball, the black hole would need to be right next to a needle to suck it in.. So much for that. He continued batting away at the pointed objects.

Gio turned of his shield and pulled out a lance and did the same as bucket, only he enfused his with dark aura.

Meanwhile, all Ivan had to do was "Draw" a hole on the ground. He then leapt into it as the needles passed, reappearing as the first wave finished. "Too easy." As the second wave came, he simply grabbed onto the "frame" of the area and leapt out of it, the needles hitting nothing. He then simply leapt back into frame. "I simply love cartoon physics. The main character never gets hurt, just like Funny Bunny!"

Gio's dark aura didn't help much; In fact, it acted as a magnet for the needles.

After the third pass, the needles hovered around the edges again, then shifted; After a short blur, the needles reformed into knives.

The fourth pass began, knives flying twice as fast and twice as powerfully as the needles.

A simple job for someone who liked messing with things cartoon-style. He took his thumb and "erased" several needles as they flew at him...unfortunately, he overlooked several that became lodged in his stomach. He pulled them out the best he could. "So much for a perfect streak. Oh well~" At the sign of knives, his eyes did their best cartoon "OMFG POP OUT EYES" look. He stepped backwards...into a wooden box that had appeared out of nowhere. The knives would obviously jam themselves into the box. However, once the wave ended, Ivan leapt out of the box with little more than a prick to his right pinky finger from one lucky knife.

A knife caught Bucket right in the chest, piercing his armor... Luckily for our hero in the battle skirt, the short blade missed his heart, and the armor slowed its momentum, so it wasn't a very deep wound. He managed to gather the willpower to pull it out of his chest and cast a very quick healing spell to stop the bleeding, all while dodging more knives. Another one brushed the side of his leg, giving him a nasty cut, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. Still he began to wonder if there was any way out of the situation...

"A carnival..." Lina muttered. "Lina loves carnivals!!!" She skipped joyfully through the gates, unaware of anything torturous that might become an obstacle in her quest to find her friend Fia.

The cycle repeated once again.

The blades elongated and hilts twisted.

From knives into ornate swords.

Pass six begun, the blades attracted to Gio's dark aura.

Worn out and injured, Bucket was actually HAPPY to see the blades become larger. It was a lot easier to hit them away now, but a single screw up could be fatal... He focused as had as he could. He had to bat away as many of the swords as possible...

"SHIT!..I'm attracting these craps." he said changing his weapon into a sword, and going into a link style spin. Only he spun protecting all sides.

First up was the shooting gallery. Lina always boasted that she never missed when she used a bow, and she was mostly right. As she aimed her bow at one of the targets, she realized there was a small hold in the bulls-eye. At once, a stick slid through, and out popped a sharp arrow from the stick. The bulls-eye proceeded to fire at Lina, who barely avoided it.

"Whoa... Lina didn't expect that..."

((Sorry, man. Debate tournament. I'm gonna assume that Zetta dodged quite a bit of them, but got hit by a few knives, and such.))

Zetta's attempt to parry the blades so far was actually rather successful. Now, however, he doubted if it would be any good. Zetta's blade, or more accurately, the air around it ((Since Jade isn't a conductor of electricity, correct me if this is wrong.)) flared with a lightning effect, granting the blade the affinity of the storm.

Even with Gio's change of tactics, the swords continued towards him.

"Hahahah! Every thing you do will decide your fate in this game. Think carefully...! Hahahah!"

The swords, as if travelling in a pack and with minds of their own, shifted all their focus to Gio and his residual dark energy.

The spotlights flicked out, and with them, all visibility.

When they flicked back on, Gio was hanging from one of the crosses on the outer rim, a sword in each limb.

"Ha! Hahahah!

I'll give you a moment before act II begins. Enjoy our short intermission!

The concession's closed, by the way. Hahahah."

The swords that weren't impaled in Gio returned to the borders of the stage and shifted back into the walls.

The lights went out once again.

Bucket slowly shifted his eyes around the dark room. The first game was over, eh?

He took the moment to relieve himself and the others of their wounds. After casting his healing spell a few times, he reached into his belt pouch, whipped out a cookie, sat on the ground, and quickly ate it. He'd need the energy if he were to survive the next round. The twisted game had only begun...

"... Well, this sure is a fun, family-friendly carnival."
