I got this game a while ago, and all I have to say is this: WOW, sega really pulled it off! Even if it is in 3D, the game kicks butt. The plot goes like this:
After a fight with Eggman, Sonic falls for his trap, and uses the emeralds to break up the world and unleashes Dark Gaia. While that happens, Sonic gets hit with the negative energy and transforms into a werehog. After being discarded, he lands on chip, who loses his memory after Sonic lands on him. Now they must put the world back togetherand restore pover to the Chaos Emeralds.
But enough of that. Let's get on with the review, shall we?

Graphics: 7/10
Despite that it's 3D, The graphics aren't all that bad. They're especially cool when running at Mach 1 speed.

Day stage mechanics: 10/10
It's just like the old Sonic games: Running at Mach 1 (or break neck) speed. Now that's what Sonic is all about

Night stage mechanics: 10/10
Who doesn't love beating the ever living crap out of enemies? I know this area was complained about the most, due to the werehog. That is the main focus of the game, though. I would especially reccomend this game to Beat'em up lovers.

Werehog: 10/10
Angsty Sonic fans got really upset with the werehog idea, which left real fans like me to listen to their griping. I think the Werehog was a decent idea, Compared to the 2006 game. There are those who love werewolves, like me, and might love the game too. Basically, as the werehog you:
Swing, grapple, and climb obstacles
Beat lots of enemies to a pulp
upgrade for more attacks

Characters: 8/10
There are few characters to interact with. The real twist is the new character: Chip. He makes the game looks like an episode of The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Chip has good sense of humor, and will sometimes leave you laughing.

Voices 7/10
I have to admit, Griffith did a good job with the werehog, especially the death scream.

overall 9/10
Sega has finally got it. They bought back sonic the way it was meant to be.

You forgot the fun part of the review which achieved a
0/10

I had the last of my hopes for SEGA and this game crushed all of them. :c

I'm just giving my opinion the game. I just see the good qualities, instead of bashing the snot out out of it. This is my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

I don't if it involves poor button-mashing mechanics.
I've never played Unleashed but saying "it has unrealistic violence so it's good" is a terrible point to make especially if you're giving something 10/10. If you think this is the formula for a good game, please never consider game design as a career!

And judging from the demo, this was definitely NOT worthy of a 9/10. But I guess that's just a matter of opinion. ФֻФ ФֻФ

Props for Sega for actually trying this time to make this game feel like the old days of Sonic. It would've been better without the Werehog.

What SEGA should do is make an epic remake of the original sonic trilogy.

Personally, despite this game getting some respect like it deserves, I found your review was abit too sugarcoated.

Like how the Werehog in the Wii version seemed to only know "Run" and "Sprint", and therefore had trouble when he had to "walk" on small platforms wasn't mentioned.
