I stopped like anime for a long time.

Mostly because people my age are not supposed to be watching TV shows about preteen kids being angsty and finding their individual paths in life through a series of battles and fighting tournmanents.

But I realized I already don't care about what other people think and Japanese anime is better than more of half the shit that is on American television.

Especially in animation quality.

*crag* dude.

Even the worst anime has more *crag* inbetweens then some of the *crag* shit on now.

The day you can draw a few abstract lines that seem vaguely human and then tween them into a walking animation and actually get it on television, is the day I commit suicide.

And today is that day.

THE OLD POPPLE IS DEAD FOREVER

It's no lie that American animation quality has degraded through the years, but if one were to compare modern anime to American classic animation, one would find the animation quality of the classics to be far more fluid and "alive."

With that said, yeah, there's some anime that's good. You just gotta avoid the stuff that's obviously meant for children, such as Naruto/One Piece/Etc. There's some good stuff to be watched that is still targeted towards an adult audience.

You know, if you actually watched Naruto and One Piece, you would know there's a lot of dark overtones to them. ´・ω・`

I've seen a good share of both shows, but in my honest opinion, I cannot say that they are in the same league as Ghost in the Shell, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Hellsing, or even Inuyasha. One must also note that dark overtones don't necessarily make a work "mature" or of quality; I don't consider Naruto or One Piece "mature" in the way that I would many other examples.

Now, I have heard good things stated about the original manga and how the shows don't correctly reflect the material they're based on, but I'm not in a position to judge the comics.

One Piece was decent for a while.
Then they changed all the voices and it became shit.

They need to bring back the good shit (Courage teh cowardly dog, top 5 crap, and other cartoonnetwork shows)

The only reason most people hate anime is because its overrated. They look past the quality of the show.

Sure, in mangas. Have you seen the anime? Especially the dub? Why do you think they air on Cartoonnetwork and not Adult Swim?

The main reason why I hate anime is because most of them are repetitive. Main guy is hero. Main girl is his partner. There is evil. Main guy gets some secret weapon or shit and saves the world. Main guy gets laid with the main girl. Main girl is always someone who is attractive in a nerd's point of view. Main girl has a body of a model. Main guy not so much. There is a perverted scene in almost every single anime in existance.
And the list goes on. Tell m, do you guys NOT see these things in anime? Of course you do, thats why these newer animes are starting to go down in a shit hole.
Don't get me wrong though, I still like a few anime (Death Note, D Gray Man) Although there are quite a number I despise (Everything else)

I think you're confusing anime with 90's JRPGs. ФֻФ

But a lot of anime have a lot of those characteristics. If you look closely enough, you can find an example.

yes, even some of these modern day anime are like that. The newer animes were inspired by old anime, so of course you'd expect most of them to be the same.
