F.R.C. (first robotics competition)

This year's competition is lunacy. made up of 2, 3 team alliances, the goal is to take balls scattered accross the field and put them in opponent's robot's trailers. the surface you drive on is low friction to make the competition more difficult.

This past weekend was the midwest regional (chicago) competition.
There were many good robotics teams out there (though most were not very good). There was even one team from Canada.

Through the preliminarys, the top 8 teams were chosen.
Theam 1 picked team 2 into their alliance for finals.

The team my team ended up with was ranked the last place (lowest scoring) alliance in the finals. And here is the kicker... We go up aginst the top ranked alliance!

Quarter finals,
Round 1. my team loses
Round 2. my team wins
Round 3. my team wins! (we just beat the top ranked alliance)

Semi-Finals
Round 1, my team loses.
Round 2, my team loses. (BY 2 POINTS (1 ball in a trailer is worth 1 ball))

SOO close. But I'm on to the next competition.
