Well, I'm home sick today. I was sitting around when I thought of something. When there are a decent amount of kids missing from school, are most of them liegitimately sick, or are they just skipping?
I've pretended to be sick a couple times so I could skip, but I've been sick more often than not.
When you miss school, do you mostly skip or are you actually sick? If you skip, what makes you decide to do so? |

Funny, I'm sick today, too.
I never skip. I'm sick a TON (Like maybe school 35-40 days a year) but it's all real. It's also really weird that I never get sick in the summer...
But I think a lot of people do skip, though...

I'd get thrown out of school for missing that many days. |

There was someone in my classes last year who missed about 1/3-2/3 of the school year
I don't know if they were sick or skipping, but probably just skipping |

My parents would strangle me with something if I even mentioned skipping... and I only get sick once or twice a year, so I usually miss a week of school at the most out of the entire year. |

Usually, I keep my mouth shut when I'm sick, so when I skip, I'm faking it. And I don't do that often, at least not now that I'm in a better but more harsh school. |

There's a big fever virus spreading like crazy recently. I got it 2 days ago.
I would say most of them are actually sick. But in a class of thirty, 5 are sick, one of them are most likely sick. Most of the time I am honestly sick. every winter I get a suck-ass cold and I cough ALOT. I don't go to school then cause I'll "Spread the germs" but It's because it's pretty damn disruptive. |

The school system around here is pathetic. You can skip over 40 classes and still pass with an A or B. With the teachers knowing you are SKIPPING.
Naturally, everyone takes advantage of this and skips.
Even I found myself frequently skipping PE at one point last year (there was a reason behind this aside from not wanting to do the class, mind you). I also skipped science and French on alternating weeks... this was actually required by the school for me. |

Most people at my school just skip probably, though doing so seems pretty impractical, since your attendance counts towards your Exam Exemptions. |

I get sick and then stay home longer than I should, because school is an annoyance that I am forced to suffer through.
In my perfect world I'd be able to sleep, play video games, and contemplate the futility of man all day. |

The reasons I've stayed home from school:
1) Sick 2) Mother is sick, can't drive me, bus has passed, and Father is at work 3) Missed the bus
I have never pretended...
Ok, maybe once, in the 3rd grade. |

I guess writing isn't a profession now. |

Whenever Im sick I over exaggerate it the day before so when I wake up and im not really sick, I just say I am and stay home. I probably did this 5 times so far this year. And i skip sometimes because I feel like it. |
