Friend: HEY! I JUST GOT DISH KOUWL NEW CD. WANT TEH SONGS?!?!?!?!
You: KAY!!!1111!!1!!!111
*borrow CD and downloads on computer*
Congratulations, you are a pirate now. How is the government going to stop this now? |
Actually, that's not true. Once someone buys the CD, he/she owns it and is free to do what he/she wishes with it, including lending it to someone else and allowing him/her to upload the music on it into his computer. A similar thing happened between Blockbuster and Nintendo a long time ago. Nintendo tried suing Blockbuster for renting out games, but it was pointed out that the games were Blockbuster's, and they could do what they wanted. |

Thank god.
And no need to be sarcastic, asshole, he said downloading movies. It implies piracy, but I just wanted to be safe.

———————————> | Implies? Downloading movies is illegal. iTunes is an exception, since you're purchasing it, but not really like downloading, since you're buying it, the only difference being the medium used to obtain the movie. The answer should've been obvious from the start. |
