Don't go on the internet at all on April 1st. Appearantly, there's some guy who's going to try to send out a virus to every computer online. Do not go on the internet at all on April 1st.
Also, scan your computer with this program. If you already have the virus on your computer, it will activate on April 1st. darkzero said this program should remove the virus. |

As I said in the Cbox, It's already been sent out, And don't think turning your internet off is going to work, Because if you're already infected, The virus will still activate itself.

I think that this topic needs to be searchlighted. Just in case people don't know about this. |

So what does the virus even do, anyway?
Good thing M'aiq never uses the computer that's actually his, and all he does on this one is check Digibutter, youtube, and a few webcomics. |

Well, this is on the Wiki:
Quote: | On 15 October 2008 Microsoft released a patch (MS08-067) to fix the vulnerability.[31] Removal tools are available from Microsoft,[32] BitDefender,[33] ESET, Symantec,[34] Sophos,[35] and Kaspersky Lab,[36] while McAfee and AVG can remove it with an on-demand scan.[37][38] While Microsoft has released patches for the later Windows XP Service Packs 2 and 3 and Windows 2000 SP4 and Vista, it has not released any patch for Windows XP Service Pack 1 or earlier versions (excluding Windows 2000 SP4), as the support period for these service packs has expired. Since the virus can spread via USB drives that trigger AutoRun, disabling the AutoRun feature for external media (through modifying the Windows Registry) is recommended.[39] However the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team describes Microsoft's guidelines on disabling Autorun as being "not fully effective," and they provide their own guides.[40] Microsoft has released a removal guide for the worm via the Microsoft website. |
Does this mean those of us who update our computers and don't use USB drives can stop worrying? |

Here's some vital info. Check various antivirus websites such as Kaspersky and AVG. If you can't access them, but could in the past, you have the virus. Also, there's a $250k reward for the capture of the people who created the virus in the first place. |

I think I'm safe, since I rarely stray from my bookmarks and my virus scan showed nothing last night. :/
I might use my Wii for the internets on the first just in case though. |

I'm safe. I go to the same 5 sites, so I don't think I'll be swaying into unknown territory. |

Quote: | he worm exploits a previously patched vulnerability in the Windows Server service used by Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 Beta and Windows Server 2008 R2 Beta.[2] The worm has been unusually difficult for network operators and law enforcement to counter because of its combined use of advanced malware techniques.[3][4] |
I'm pretty safe guys. |
