I wish we could all live off the Earth, with no pollution, no huge buildings, no cars. All of that is ruining everything. WAYYYYY less money in the world. Or, none at all perhaps. Imagine how much better this would make the world.

Yeah, right. No pollution is possible, but not soon, just after the oil has run out and the governments/big corporations accept the use of a non-pollutive fuel(don't dream about sunlight or water, one is free and the other is too limited and we need it to ourselves). As for the factories, there are filters, but many don't use them because they are expensive.
Why no huge buildings? So there's way more medium height buildings occupying more land space? Nonsense.
Why no cars? See my answer regarding pollution.

No, it makes the planet worse, but it don't ruin the economy, it helps it.
