I hope I won't cause any drama here, i just want to get this out
idk it just feels like i kinda don't want to draw anymore, i guess it's because of the crits i get. I know that sounds kinda dumb, but the way people say it really makes me feel bad about the way i draw. like, they say it looks weird and screwed up and shit and it makes me feel like I can't draw good. And I don't know what looks good anymore, i start drawing and i automatically assume it looks really bad. to me it does look really bad... Oh yeah, i guess you could also say it's because of the way i am, i always want to be the best and shit and i really can't help it...I hate being like that, but i just can't control it
argh i don't know what i'm trying to get across with this, i'm just hoping someone understands. but i bet no one does. |

Crits... can be really hard to accept sometimes, especially if you're proud of a piece.
That's why you distance yourself emotionally from whatever you make. I shouldn't be saying this, though, as I get very attached to my artwork. At major art schools, though, apparently, they will take pieces of art, hold them in front of the class, say they suck, and rip them to pieces just to make people get better at taking crits. guhh :c
Every artist thinks that their work sucks most of the time, though. I have a bunch of unfinished PSD files on my computer, just because I think that people will think that they aren't up to par with my past work.
When you create something, you set a bar, unfortunately. Whenever I draw something, I feel like I might as well not show it unless it's as good as everything else I've made. I'm not sure if that's how you feel, but... yeah.
I dunno. Everything we do pushes us a little bit further, and everything everyone says should be taken as something to learn from, no matter how harsh their words are. Or something like that. |

this is one thing i always find strange with girls (if you are a girl i presume you are). They are always negative about themselves. Like with there looks. THEY think they look horrible but when I look at them. I think they look beautiful. Or with somthing they draw. Seriously i can't draw for cake yet i still look at the positive's occasionly. |

Wait, so does that mean you draw for other people other than yourself? I mean, if you don't want to draw because of the crits you get, that means you care too much about other people, and think you don't need to improve any.
Probably interpreting this wrong, but, yeah. -Shrug- ♡ |

Crits are something you can't miss when your an artist. Maybe you can keep your drawing hobby to yourself? I mean you still draw, but you don't share them to others? |

Crits do hurt, and I get them a lot too. But the next time I start drawing I remember everything that I was told about my last piece and start working over that. It's really helpful for me to get criticism along with positive feedback. (: |
