It wasn't complete shit, but it wasn't a good movie, either.
The primary problem with the film is that it was based on good ideas, but the ideas failed to add up as a whole. Certain aspects of the film were rendered pointless- such as most of the primary plot device the film certains around- and the biblical comparisons weren't as clearly portrayed as they could have been. Aside from the jumbled mess of a plot, the film had some of the absolute worst child actors ever. The music, on the other hand, was alright, but that's probably due to the fact that alot of it felt familiar, as if it was copied from other films.
It is definitely on the lower end of the "apocalyptic sci-fi" spectrum of films, but it isn't the worst. I don't reccomend watching it in theatres; quite honestly, you will feel as if it was a waste of money. However, it's at least worthy of a rent. Or watching it whenever it winds up on television.
