Why teenagers are moody, scientists find the answer
Quote: | Among the last to mature is the very front of the brain's frontal lobe, which is involved in control of impulses, judgement and decision-making, which scientists say might explain some of the bizarre decisions made by the average teenager.
This area also controls and processes emotional information sent from the amygdala - the fight or flight centre of gut reactions - which may account for the short-tempers among some teenagers.
Scientists say that at this stage of life the brain acts as sponge for learning, but the lack of impulse control may lead to risky behaviour such as drug and alcohol abuse, smoking and unprotected sex. |

I can't see my opinions of drugs and sex change with age. I'm pretty sure however old I am, if I had the opportunity, I'd PARTY HARD |

So that explains the unprotected sex, smoking, and consumption of alcohol I seem to have whenever I go to a 16th birthday party. Thanks, Science! |

In other news, scientists have discovered the main cause of apathy in the teenage populus.
In response, the teenage populus has issued this statement; "Eh." |

In other news, ships float and bricks don't.
I think this stood in my psychology textbook, and that one is so old there weren't any WACOM tablets yet (Seriously, all the graphics are pixellated and from MS Paint.)
In other news, as thousands of idiot parents and Jack Thompson saw, you can't and shouldn't use science as an excuse to be an asshat.
Goodnight. |
