Religion gives Science meaning.

Science gives validation to Logic.

Logic finds truth in religion.

Instead of constantly trying to combat each other, these views need to come together.

When you look at all three, in a mind set of finding similarities instead of contradictions, the universe opens up to you.

Suddenly it all fits.

This is my view of the world, and what it should become.

Where the knowledge of the physical, spiritual, and philosophical become one.

A world where there is not one belief or many beliefs, just the belief.

These three come together to support moral knowledge, intellectual stability, and the analytical skills necessary to sew all three together.

Religious wars would end, the threat of destruction through our own technology would be obliterated, and we would all be able to coexist as one.

It has slowly been made evident to me that all beliefs are at their core, correct.

Theism is correct in discerning that there is a spiritual interloper in the world's affairs.

Atheism is correct in discerning that there are many contradiction in these beliefs.

Agnosticism is correct in discerning that the answer may lie in both.

This is the conclusion I have come to.

I like it. Makes sense, and it's pretty much what I've been thinking for a while now.

The thing about most religions that ticks me off is their inflexibility and apathy to current needs of the world. Like when the Pope says that putting a Bible over your penis before sex will prevent the transmission of HIV.

The organized religions in their current form are for the most part obsolete.

Not all of them, primarily the ones that interpret the words in religious texts literally.

The Bible isn't a *crag* textbook, both scientists and priests need to realize this.

Exactly.

This is so horribly true, but no one takes notice of it in their little war.

That's why people should avoid dogmatic religion, and instead practice spiritualism.

Being raised as a Catholic, I've had this belief for as long as I can remember.

And the whole thing about the pope and the bible, he didn't mean it to be taken literally...

There are people of all secs of religious belief that think the bible is literal.

Eh, a lot of times I feel like I can't help but be critical. I believe that the Church's views on contraceptive methods really aren't working.

And the Pope also seems very, very ill informed about condoms in general.

@Popple: I think he was talking about what I posted on the Pope and HIV.

Or any religion with any holy book for that matter.

Although I've never met an extreme Buddhist.

I didn't say that.

Ever.

I said logic is based on science.

Logic is used to find the truth in religion.

Religion is used to give meaning to science.

Science is used to validate logic.

Which makes it sorta like rock-paper-scissors.

Logic(rock) finds truth in religion(paper).
Religion(paper) finds meaning in science(scissors)
Science(scissors) is used to validate logic(rock).

Also: RaveRaze, you're saying the exact opposite. From what I can gather, religion is based on logic, not logic based on religion.

And why can't a person use rock, paper AND scissors to do stuff instead of using just one to fight other people? I dunno, but I can't. At least, not until I find a way to mesh them together.
