I've reached the second-to-last boss of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
I have (I think) all the Energy Tanks, I do have all the Power Bomb tanks, all Beam Ammo Expansions and all but 8 Missile Containers.
But Emperor Asshole won't *crag* die.
Therefore, I'd like to hear some Nerr strategies to deal with this beastie.
What I do, and my issues:
Form 1 - Emperor Ing Body & Head: Annihilator beam, because the f*cking tentacles are near-impossible to hit. They're either out of my line of sight, chargin' their lazer dark matter attack, which forces me to boost away, of are whipping around the arena bitchslapping me. The Seeker Launcher takes too long to lock on, and does shitty damage anyway, it seems. Bleedin' tentacles.
Form 1.5 - Emperor Ing Eye: I hit the eye with Super Missiles, because a Sonic Boom takes WAY too much ammo for my good.
Form 1 is going okay, but usually costs me, what, four energy tanks ? I hate Phazon.
Form 2 - Emperor Ing Chrysalis: Well, duh. Spider Ball, and either normal or Power Bombs.
Problem is, these f*cking Inglets keep knocking me off, and the Spider Ball takes time to stick to it again. Once I got knocked off, got back on, only to meet the same fate. Three times in a row. Cost: two to three energy tanks.
Form 3 - Mutated Emperor Ing: I die, usually. Before that, I try hitting a Super Missile in his red core - which usually hits his legs. He then proceeds to block my view, knocks me into the Phazon, or jumps at impossible angles, to that I get hit by his attack AND knocked into the Phazon.
If I get him out of the red form, I usually whip out he Annihilator again, which should be effective against both light and dark, but appears to do as much damage as a Megaman's peashooter.
When he summons a Nightbarb swarm, I try a Sonic Boom, but he usually eats them to regenerate before I can.
So... yeah. Halp.
Maybe the Wiimote has decreased my 1337 controller skillz. :( |

...The first (and for me most important) piece of advice... ...Don't use Annihilator, ever, you should never need to use it throughout the game unless it is mandatory (It's very costly)...
...You can skip this part if you only want advice on the Mutated version...
...For the first form, I use light beam and target the tentacles, beacuse one shot of light kills each tentacle... ...And also, you CAN kill the tentacles while they are charging.... so you should get like 2 off while he's charging... ...I of course use the corkscrew whenever he does the light/dark attack...
...The only time you really might take damage is when you corkscrew to avoid the light tentacles, because they last for awhile... ...You shouldn't have to touch the phazon ever, when you corkscrew to another area to avoid the attack, just corkscrew right into the wall and you'll bounce onto the non-phazon... ...For the eye, once it starts to emerge i charge a light attack (Don't use Sunburst, it's way too inaccurate) and hit ti with that, then I just smack it with lots of normal light attacks... ...rinse and repeat...
...For the Regenerative state, fairly simple, if a Inglet pops up, just go to a different vulnerable spot, but remember, if you can, kill the Inglet, because the poison gas is constantly rising...
...Continue on if you want to read about the Mutated Ing Emperor...
...For the Mutated Version, Just charge a super missile, double jump to get a better view at his mouth, and shoot... ...Once he changes, use the color opposite of his, Annihilator, as I said before, is very costly and not that affective anyway... ...When he is in a changed state, avoid using the charged or missile fueled version of the light/dark beam, because most of them are very inaccurate... ...When he brings out a swarm, switch to energy beam and just fire away, they drop valuable energy and re-fuels... ...If he rams you and somehow misses, then strafe behind him and shoot his through the hole in his back (it is much easier to get a shot at, but is quite impossible to see if he is active) remember, he has to be stunned, or in shock (usually) for you to use his back vulnerable point... ...If you strafe often then his ramming should most of the time miss you...
...hope that helps :)...

Accidental double-post is accidental.
Thanks for the help, White Shy Guy... I assume you mean "Screw Attack" by corkscrew and "Light Beam" by energy beam. Or Power Beam, i unno,
I'm off to try again.
The good thing about Annihilator is he homes in on targets - I scarcely have the chance to hit them because he keeps swinging them right round. |

...Errr yeah, I meant Screw Attack, and Energy beam=Power Beam, it's alot easier to kill the swarms with Power beam, since it has a faster firing rate...
...And are you talking about The first stage?... ...The tentacles are invulnerable while they are spinning, I believe... ...You have wait until he charges the dark blast, where you can knock off 2 each time... ...Or while he is pausing in between attacks... ~White Shy Guy

I sent him back to whatever rotten abode he considers an afterlife.
It's a shame it took the Luminoth 70 years to develop the Light Suit and Energy Transfer Module, because else they could've done it by themselves. |

In all honesty, I used that super beam that was light and dark to weaken it, then I just shot it with the power beam and charged missiles. °Д° ◉_◉ ʘﮯʘ |
