I do sometimes. Like in Pokemon Platinum (Lucas's hat sucks) and Megaman ZX (Aile is cool and Vent's crawl speed annoys me. I picked Grey in Advent, though).
Of course, when the only characters you can play as are girls, I obviously play as a girl.

I actually have L4D on the 360 (little brother wanted it). It's fun and people on there aren't as good as on the PC version so I can kick more ass on Versus. |

I only choose female characters when I dislike the appearance of the male characters.
My elementalist and warrior in Guild Wars are female, mostly because the male warrior doesn't look that great, and the faces of the male elementalist scare me at times(I'm looking at SA's ele right now...). |

Yeah, the only difference is that console Left 4 Dead gets it's updates later. Valve's treating Left 360 Dead nicely instead of not giving it any updates like TF2. Though now they're going back to give TF2 updates. So I guess they decided to not be mean to the 360 anymore.
But, anyway, I usually choose the male characters. Even if there's only females. If you play as a female character then you're a homosexual. |

I play Pearl and Platinum as the girl. And I played Ape Escape 3 as the girl, but that's only because ym brother already played as the guy, and I wanted to see the difference.
And I mained Talim in Soul Calibur 2 for a while, but I don't think that really counts, because I didn't choose to main her based on the fact she was a girl, but on the grounds that I was good with how she played. |

Sometimes. I use Dawn in Pokemon Platinum, and I main Kitana in Mortal Kombat, and Chun Li in Street Fighter. But thats because I can't win with any other character. xD |

Fighting games don't count because it all comes down to who your good with.
I think he's talking about female protagonists such as Dawn when you get to choose a gender.
games like Mirrors Edge or Portal forces you to play as the female.
But really, there is no difference, so I just play the game without any care for who I'm playing as. |
