Honestly, everyone can see that RPOT has been the center of some conflict recently. I have a suggestion to hopefully make everybody happy, no matter how you used RP/RPOT.
I suggest that RP and RPOT be turned into three forums... Plot-based RP, Casual RP, and true RPOT.
Plot-based RP is where all Plots will go, just like in RP right now. However, it will be expanded to include all topics that are involved with any plots in Plot-based RP. Casual RP is where the generic, non-plot topics can go... fight topics and others like that. And then you have RPOT, which would exactly fit the current description of RPOT - Off-topic with character. This is where topics like the Boats would go.
Of course, some more rules would need to he hammered out for each of the three... but that's what I'm here for. End result: everyone gets the kind of RPing they want without royally pissing everyone else off.

I feel that RP and RPOT really is a clique of people. I mean my recent-posted RP hasn't even gotten any pageviews. Because I'm not a regular RPer, no one wants to even look at what I'm proposing for a plot. :/ |

I was going to join your plot, Francine, but I decided against it because I haven't RPed something like that for a long time and I'd probably be really awkward at it and stuff. ):
Anyways, I support the three-boards thing, but I'm pretty sure Francis won't go through with it. This kind of thing has been suggested multiple times before and it was supported, but Francis never implemented any of the ideas, so I wouldn't get my hopes up. |

RPOT won't work. The other two might.
Just look at RPOT now. Half this site are anti-RPOTTIES. True RPOT won't change the fact that its RPOT, which probably won't be used as the way its supposed to be used. |

Isn't it supposed to be "Off-Topic with alts" and weren't all plots supposed to be moved to RP?
M'aiq doesn't know. The system just needs to be reworked.
Not like M'aiq cares much for the RP section, since he loses interest in every plot he joins and/or makes. The only one he ever really stuck with was Castle Bleck. |

No one treats it like "Off Topic" w/ alts. Unless I missed something, because I don't go to RPOT every day.

It would let anyone who didn't want to be caught up in plots have an easier time. At the same time, people wouldn't bitch about their plots sinking in a bunch of unrelated topics and dying out. |

See, that's how it used to be. Even not-plot topics were in RP. Plots had topics, and places had topics, and it was all great. |
