v.
Which is the more original, more talented artist? Compare the two Clouds up there, for example.
I'm going with Amano, for obvious reasons.

Any real Final Fantasy fan knows that Amano is the superior artist. |

Amano. Nomura's old stuff has ridiculously long legs on everyone, and while his newer stuff is better drawn, his designs are pretty bad. Belts and zippers everywhere. |

I like both styles, actually. |

I find Amano's work more in-depth. The only problem with me is the lack of color in some of his work.
Amano is better for the older FF players, and those that like great details, while Nomura is better if you're just looking at it, but as CFWF said, there's too many belts and stuff.
Look at Dissidia for example, the reason the character models look pretty good is because they used the Amano illustrations, and based the models off of them for the characters from older games.

Um, Amano is a guy. | Oh, my bad. I was thinking about something else.
Probably remembering the time I thought Amano was female.
That was because most of his work made the characters look feminine, and all, I guess. |
