First I spend $21.50 for making colored prints on campus of the project. The teacher tells me that two of the $6 prints had to be reprinted as they were all 1x1 inch too small while the box they were in was a little off. She also said that the black-and-white envelope and the black-and-white letterhead had to be in color.

I spend $35 making new colored versions of everything. Now the teacher tells me that the box has to look like it came from a store, the card-images have to be mounted, and I have to remount the letterhead, envelope, buisness card, and the logo! That means I have to spend at least another $6 for the box and who knows how much for the bristol board to mount the cards... And guess what's closed?! THE CASHIER DESK! Apparently, they closed an hour before I finally caught the teacher and showed her the stuff! I have to wait till Tuesday to print the box and mount it!

You have little idea how much I am frustrated at the moment!

At least the campus printers cost less than most others I have seen. Case in point: The 20x30 color prints cost $6 on campus a university within driving distance from my house the same print would cost $35.

And if you think this is truth in that phrase, Francine, you should take a look around in art stores. One of my classmates revealed that a small tube of acrylic paint costs $5 but the turquoise acrylic paint of the same size (and brand) costs $20?! And then there's cost of charcoal, brushes, pens, and so on. Art supplies are really pricey...

My parents are paying for the supplies, but the prints I've had to take care of from my own pockets.

It only gets worse if you have to print from your own printer. My art teacher is always yelling at us if we print color if it's not for a project or something because the ink and paper is like HOLY SHIT money.
