Okay, before you go off on me, this is COMPLETELY speculation at best, so just hear me out for a second.
So, I'm just about to start playing Prime 3 (again), so I head to gamefaqs and check out Banjo_2553's guide (the one I use on the playthroughs). I noticed, however, it had been updated. So I was sitting there, thinking, "Hmm...that's new..."
So, I go and see what's up. Well, towards the bottom I noticed something new...
You know that you can actually hear REAL audio from Miyamoto, Iwata, and several others from Nintendo? Well, apparently, the update had included their translated clips. But the last one, from Yoshio Sakamoto, Metroid's Co-creator, REALLY got my attention:
"Hello everyone. This is Sakamoto from Nintendo. Did you enjoy Metroid Prime 3? Samus's mission is not over with these missions but will continue to go on. Please look forward to waiting for the next one! METOROIDO OMOROIDO! [Metroid is Fun!]"
A couple seconds passed before I processed what was just written.
"...Did he just say what I THOUGHT he just said?"
Does this mean we could expect a Metroid Game in the not-to-distant future? I honestly don't know - there's a couple ways one can take that statement, but I'm being optimistic.
Your thoughts? |

Yeah I thought they wouldn't just put Metroid to bed after MP3, and I'm sure a lot of people thought the same. It's cool to have some confirmation but I'm definitely not surprised. ФֻФ |

Chances are that they will continue on with the main storyline. I'm curious to see what the GF is going to do with Samus now, considering what she did in Fusion. |

I agree.
Especially when one spots what appears to be the Delano 7 on a 100% clear at the end. Why else would we have seen it if you needed to get all pickups for it?

My guess is we're going to see a bit better look at the Federation in general - maybe even see the government from the Pirate's Viewpoint?
EDIT: Clarity. |

You mean setting an already doomed space station to plummet into a virtually dead planet to eradicate a parasitic plague and near assuring the end to the infamous Space Pirate commander and murderer of her parents?
I forgot how it went down exactly, but that's what happened if I remember. |
