I must admit, when I first played Earthbound I didn't like it too much and found it kind of boring. Then the English Translation of Mother 3 came out, and I decided to give it a try. The game is flawless, I honestly could not think of anything that I didn't like about the game. It is definitely the second best game I have ever played.
After I beat it, I went back to Earthbound, and actually found it fun.
This game is far from mediocre my friend, just because you don't like it doesn't mean it sucks. However, the only game I didn't like in the series was Mother. |

Some people like certain things.
Some people don't like certain things.
And a lot of people like to proclaim how awesome something is when they like it.
Nobody likes everything. You have the right to state that you don't like the series, but you shouldn't call it mediocre. You should say you think it is mediocre, or that it's mediocre in your eyes, as the majority of those who played EarthBound at any time will probably disagree if you outright say it's mediocre and nothing else.
Basically what you're doing is like saying "I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE LIKE PAPER MARIO I MEAN IT'S SO DUMBED DOWN AND EASY COMPARED TO LIKE FINAL FANTASY" when Paper Mario and Final Fantasy are very different games.  |
