Finally finished this after spending a whole day on it @_@ At least I got the hang of it now and can do it faster next time.....

This is almost a self-portrait really....

I'm very happy with how this came out, considering it's my first try. I love how the hoodie came out. I'm definitely happy with the hands and that I that I managed to shade it well, both of which I have trouble doing. I used gradients to shade, which makes me feel like I cheated D: I'm glad that the colors I used worked well, because I swear I'm colorblind and can't tell if two colors look good together or not. I'm planning on adding a background and maybe some of her pokemon around her.

Anyway, I'm looking for tips and stuff to get better, so if you can help at all, that would be great.

Woah, I love your style. Even though you did 'ceat' with gradients, I think you varied it enough so that it actually complements the image, rather than make it look lazy :P

I think you need to work on anatomy a little. The hand looks like it's twisted in an unnatural way and you have incredibly pointy cheeks :O
Try to focus on these for when you do your next image.
Oh, an Red Gyarados is schweet :]

It's really good for your first time!
The only thing I would point out is the mouth seems to far to one side making the face look chubby.

But keep going, I'm sure you'll get really good fast.

For a first digital work, I say that it's amazing. If you kept at it, I'm sure your work will improve and you'll be cranking out masterpieces.
