On August 5th, there was a terrible thunderstorm, when lightning struck a phone pole JUST outside of the house, it shorted out the DSL Box, and the computer that was connected to it. When the storm was over, the Computer wouldn't work, and we had no internet. Here's how that was possible.
1. The computer was unplugged from any power outlets.
2. The DSL was plugged into a power outlet.
3. The DSL Box was connected to the Computer, when the computer was plugged in.
Fortunately, my parents took the tower for the computer over to a Geek Squad, and they discovered it was the motherboard that was shorted out, and it was virtually for free. It will take about a couple of weeks, most likely two or three weeks, maybe 4. We sent it in on Friday, and we recently got a new DSL Box from Verizon. Hopefully, I will survive this whole ordeal, after karma shorted my sanity out shortly after buying Pulseman and two chapters of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years!
Still, being busy with Graffiti Kingdom, and having access to my sister's laptop is good, too. And having the computer back in a couple of weeks will be worth the wait in the end. Whoever's in charge of karma, I hope that counts for something! |
