This is probably old news to you, but the Elite will be $299 starting tomorrow. The Pro will stop being manufactured ($249 until they run out)
So, for the first time, Xbox 360 and PS3 will compete side by side at the same price. Who wins?

THE PS3 NEEDS TO INSTALL THE GAMES FROM THE DISK, IF I HEARD CORRECTLY.
WHILE THIS CUTS DOWN ON LOADING TIMES, IT TAKES AWAY ONE OF THE ADVANTAGES THE CONSOLE HAD OVER PC: YOU DIDN'T NEED TO WAIT OVER TEN MINUTES FOR THE GAME TO EVEN START PLAYING. |

But that's only when you first start up the game.
Every time you start it up after downloading it, it runs automatically (Unless there's an update). |

STILL, CONSIDER IT TAKES MUCH LARGER GAMES LIKE MGS4 10 TO 20 MINUTES TO INSTALL.
AND THAT IS NOT THE WHOLE GAME, THAT IS JUST A SINGLE CHAPTER.
DO YOU WANT TO SPEND EIGHTY COMBINED MINUTES OF LOOKING AT AN OLD MAN SMOKE WHILE WARNINGS POP UP NEXT TO HIM, OR DO YOU WANT A MINUTE OR TWO OF A SOMEWHAT BORING LOADING SCREEN BEFORE ACTION RETURNS? |

Not all games have to install, but yeah, it is very annoying.
Especially for demos... wait to download, then wait some more to "install". All in the name of fighting piracy.
But, it is also recommended to copy certain Xbox 360 games to the harddrive to improve performance, which can take a while and takes up much more space. |

I paid 100$ more, 2 years ago, and it's only 20 GB.
They don't even MAKE 20 GB anymore, as far as I know. |
