!!!

a recent update I found announced that an Xbox and Microsoft exclusive is going to the DS. at the microsoft confrence, they were all talking about how its coming to the PC, but now, at Comic-Con, Rare announced that Viva Pinata will be coming the the DS.

you nintendo fans never heard of this game? or only seen videos?

well, luckily, i have a xbox 360. and I got viva pinata, not because im a little tike, but because I heard it was strangly addicting. you know how animal crossing is childish? yet, that was also strangly addicting..

Link? found: http://rareware.com/company/news.html

Would Viva Piniata still be as enjoyable without good graphics?
Would this be Rare's first game for DS?

To answer both:

1. Dunno.

2. I think so. Unless you count Diddy Kong Racing DS...

Yes, can we have a link please? Oh, and if Rare can make DS games starring their original characters, then that means.......

BANJO-
-KAZOOIE
DS!!!!!!!!!!!!

...And Diddy Kong Racing was Rare's 1st DS game, but it starred Nintendo characters.

apparently rare is ok as long as it's handheld. which is actually kinda stupid, because they'd be putting work into something for another company.

Nintendo fully owns Diddy Kong Racing, I don't think Rare had anything to do with the DS port. I could be wrong though.

Rare was behind the game: just check out the game section of rareware.com.

This is a full-size Viva Piñata game in your pocket, featuring not only the entire range of paper beasts from the Xbox 360 title but also a few new ones thrown in to spice things up for those familiar with the established cast.

You'll also be given free rein with an expanded selection of tools and tool actions, upgraded forms of the Journal and Encyclopedia, and brand new game modes such as Sandbox (for full and easy access to your favourite Piñatas) and Episodes (tying in more closely to the TV series and allowing fans of the show to spend quality time with familiar faces).

But one of the biggest changes is obviously the control method, with stylus input transforming the way in which you interact with your menagerie. Design, nurture, instruct, protect and care for your garden and animals through direct touch. The DS WiFi service also lets you send prime Piñata specimens to your friends, making the act of parading your Doenut around in a humiliating pirate outfit easier than ever.

Sweetness. I heard the Xbox 360 game was awesome but I never played it. I'll have to check this out when it's released.

And the weird thing about this is that I'm the Official editor of TV.com's Viva Piñata page! I gotta either put it on my Christmas List OR Pre-order Viva Piñata DS!
