Well, late in the game they are (Especially chapter 8 of Paper Mario). If not I can still beat chapter 5's boss of both game with 10 Hp and 10 Fp.
I can even beat Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 with a max HP of 5, using a lot of badges... so yeah, TTYD is a little too easy.
(And yeah, it's possible to lower your max HP to 5 using Chet Rippo).
But I must say I can even beat flipside's pit of 100 trial after chapter 2, starting with a Max Hp of 25 and an attack of 3 in SPM. So... |
thats impossible. you need luigi to kill fracktail (or watever his name is) |

Wracktail. I used Thoreau and some attack items to destroy (kill) him. You don't necessarely need Luigi...
You can beat Wracktail just like you could beat Fracktail. Their only difference is their attacks and how many time you have to hit his antenna(not necessarly HP). |

TTYD. It has the best moves and stuff, and I'm used to turn based battles. That and the fact that the crystal stars had powers, unlike he pure hearts! |

I like all of them for different reasons, but the second one has to be my least favorite. :3 SPM ish awesome, but I still love the first one, too. |

A little off-topic: Hmmmm, I just played PM a few weeks ago and now, I downloaded it on my Wii!
But, anyway, I say SPM was pretty good, and PM:TTYD, it's between those 2, but I don't know about PM.... |

TTYD > SPM = PM
The second one is like... the perfect blend of the good things about the first and the good things about the third.
The RPG-ish style was the thing that made the PM series a hit, and TTYD has that.
TTYD is also less cliche than PM. The main evil is NOT BOWSER (gasp) and it's in a place we haven't seen before with new species. The plot is darker than PM and not as 'out there' as SPM.
(All three of them have equally lovable minor characters though. Like, say, Kolorado = Flavio = Flint Cragley.)
I used to think the chapters felt shorter and simpler than in PM, but that was just because I was biased toward the original at first. They're really about the same.
All 3 of them had a place that I HATED (Flower Fields, Twilight Town, Overthere. All of these were very, very back-and-forth.) So nothing's perfect.
I think the final point that made me love TTYD the best was that you got a Yoshi partner. I spent all PM waiting for a Yoshi and never got one. :X
(I'm still bitter that we'll probably never see a Shy Guy partner, since they said that if there are any new PM games they won't be like the first two and instead will be more SPM-ish...) |
