Urm... The Shadow Queen made the Crystal Stars. And she cursed the four heroes when she "died". The heroes, not wanting to reveal themselves or something, "cursed" Mario to help him. I don't understand why they didn't reveal them, but meh, whutever. |

Right right... The Shadow Queen made them but the heroes took them and used them to trap her, but she cast a spell on them and once they uh.. let go of the Crystal Stars they'd be trapped in the black box and um and had to curse the first person to open them... I think that's it.. |

They are not evil, they are just having a laugh or something... The last chest states this :"What ? You say I should just skip the monologue and get to the curse ? Okay... BWA HA HA HA ! YOU FOOL ! *insert random cursing here* ... Well, how was I ? *vanishes*"
They just have a weird sense of humor. if they were eveil, then, being the legendary heroes, they'd e clever enough to curse Mario with evil curses... And the Shadow Queen just imprisoned them, they weren't corrupted...
[EDIT] Tek, whut ? in the german version it wasn't stated that they HAD to curse people when they get out... |

That wasn't in the English version either. I don't know where that came from. o_O;
I think they were still good, just had to pretend they were bad to keep hidden or something. Just, like, they were the four heroes and they were trapped by the Shadow Queen and turned into sad little Bleck-faces in boxes, and they had to give their last power to Mario so he could defeat the Shadow Queen. o.o;

They were unhinged over those thousand long years by the Shadow Queen's curse... the Queen also dispensed her three dragon children across the land, and the Pit of 100 Trials was a place of torture for her enemies. |
