It's called the sun. It's at the center of our solar system. |

Could be some sort of aircraft, slick. Or maybe it's a Star Spirit! |

It wasn't moving so it can't be an aircraft. Perhaps its exploding. |

The atmosphere causes stars to appear as if they're flickering. You'd know if it was going supernova. Trust me. |

It could have been a pulsar as well. They are stars that emit radio waves and they appear to pulse, or flicker, on and off as they rotate. |

It couldn't be a pulsar.
Allow me to explain. *adjusts nerr-glasses*
A pulsar is a type of neutron star; a neutron star is the corpse of a supermassive star--that is to say, a star that isn't quite dense enough to collapse into a black hole when it goes supernova. These neutron stars, while dense, are very dim--as stellar corpses, they no longer give off heat or light.
Pulsars are known as such for the radio pulses they give off, being too dead to shine.
So it couldn't be a pulsar you saw, unless you have ZOMG X-RAY VISION.
